Has a Raccoon or Squirrel Damaged your Attic Insulation?

Picture 285

Raccoons or squirrels can get into your attic and take up residency.  They may have a litter of babies and use your attic as their bathroom leaving urine and feces behind.  Besides carrying diseases, this can cause an odor.

Most insurance companies will cover damage done by raccoons, but usually not by squirrels.  We will work with your insurance company to provide them with the paperwork they need to process your claim and to contact them to provide any follow up answers they may need.

The first step you will want to take is to hire a trapper who will trap and  remove the animals.  After the animals are removed, you will want to securely close up any holes or areas where they were entering your attic.  Once this is done,  All Comfort Insulation will remove the old, damaged insulation containing the urine and feces.  This will all be placed into special containment bags and removed from your property.  Next, we will spray a microbial disinfectant to your attic.  The last step is to install new, fresh insulation that will help keep you comfortable in the winter as well as the summer.

The whole aspect of having an animal in your attic may be overwhelming, but we can help to make the process as painless as possible.  We have over 39 years experience with this type of work and have helped many homeowners with the damage that raccoons and squirrels can leave behind.
